I would like to thank every one that competed in and supported the 2009 IDPA Postal Match and especially the members and club personnel that set up the stages all over the US and around the world. This could not have happened without your hard work. There were just under 2,600 competitors entered in this years match with 132 different clubs hosting the match. This tops last years match and show the dedication of our shooters. There are some other impressive numbers to be found in the Miscellaneous Information heading of the match results. I recommend taking a moment to give them a look. The single biggest subcategory for the match was the Senior category with 498 competitors with another 109 in the Distinguished Senior category. It looks like the place to compete this year is in SSP. SSP division had almost twice the competitors in it than ESP and CDP combined. I attribute some of that to the rise in ammo prices and renewed interest in the 9mm.

Earlier, I generally thanked everyone that helped set up and shoot the match, but I would like to take a moment to thank some people individually. First off, our Match Director Ted Murphy. I guess he just could not rest after successfully running the 2007 and 2008 National Championships. Thank you, sir. Ted also has taken the duty of making sure all the scores were entered and collated for our competitors. He is most certainly dedicated to the sport. A ‘thank you’ also to Melissa Murphy who, as I write, is hard at work getting the awards ready for distribution to all of the competitors that placed in this match. Good thing this was not a sanctioned match as we would have had a bunch of people moving up as well! Then we have Jane Fleming of Beach Bunny Software that wrote the wonderful free scoring software that we used. Jane also has one of the best club scoring programs available and it is the one we use to score the IDPA National Championship. We greatly appreciate her hard work!

Thanks again to everyone and I hope that we see your names among the scores next year. Have a great shooting season.
