Update from Joyce Wilson

Thank you to all our members considering shooting the 2022 IDPA National Championship Presented by Beretta match and those already signed up to shoot it.  We know that the Cameo range and the CO Parks & Wildlife Department has been in the news lately and we have been keeping an eye on all the media coverage.  We have also been in contact with officials in CO, and we have spoken to our leadership and members who are concerned.  With all that in mind, we have spoken to Walt Proulx at length. We have since been informed that the CO Park and Wildlife is requiring competitors with magazines that hold more than 15 rounds, to sign an additional waiver.  You can download the waiver here. Please keep in mind that CO law only applies to any standard capacity magazines (more than 15 rounds) that were purchased after July 1, 2013.  We hope that you can all understand that unfortunately it is too late in the year for HQ to move this year’s match, but we are listening to our members. We will be hosting next year’s championship match back in Talladega at the CMP Talladega Marksmanship Park.

We will work with the Cameo staff to expedite that process at check-in and to keep our competitors from being inconvenienced as much as we are able.  We hope this will not influence your decision about whether to join us at our National Championship match this year, but we understand if it does, and hope to see you in future years.  If you have any questions, you are free to reach out to the Cameo staff at 970-589-1032 or via email at dnr_cameooffice@state.co.us

Thank you for your continued support and we hope to see you at the range soon,

Joyce Wilson
