Ed Sendele Announced as New Area Coordinator
IDPA Headquarters is pleased to announce the appointment of Ed Sendele as Area Coordinator (AC) for the states of Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota effective Jan. 13, 2025. Sendele is a member of Badger IDPA in the Milwaukee Area.
The new AC is diverse in shooting divisions. “I shoot all of them. I generally pick a new division to shoot every year to try them all but ESP and CO are by far my favorites.” He has been shooting IDPA for over a decade. “I started shooting IDPA in 2003. Back then a friend pushed me to dust off my only gun and learn to shoot it. Today, the number of tools have changed, but the drive to shoot them better hasn’t. I have shot the Wisconsin state match for the last 15 years or so and have been highly active in the last ten, MD’ing two. During that time, I was a founding member of Badger IDPA, held several Board of Director positions with shooting clubs in the area. As a board member of Badger IDPA, we have helped to promote the sport by helping new ranges start IDPA clubs.”
Sendele’s plan for himself and his area are straightforward. “I want to help people shoot fun and safe matches. I started and built Badger IDPA with several people. Mike Herro, former AC, was one of them, he moved to Florida and turned things over to John Alexander, the previous AC. John has now moved to FL. It is time for me to turn over my board position with Badger IDPA and step into the next role and help continue to grow IDPA. I have been introducing IDPA to new shooters for years with Badger IDPA. I have helped 4 local ranges start up clubs in the area and am happy to help all shooters get better and stay safe.”
Ed feels that he is lucky to have had the mentorship and guidance of these two previous ACs. “These guys worked so hard and had such passion for the sport, I have big shoes to fill.”
Sendele, who is semi-retired, lives in New Berlin, WI, with his wife and one child. He says his hobbies outside of IDPA are, “Pretty much anything with a trigger or a throttle.”
