Racine IDPA Match

RACINE IDPA ? June 15th Match The next Racine IDPA match is coming up this Saturday, June 15th, 2013. The match will be held at Racine County Rifle Club in Racine. Directions can be found on our web site at http://www.racineidpa.com. Setup and range preparation will start at 7:00 AM. Registration begins at 8:00 AM. The Safety Meeting will be at 8:45 AM with shooting to start at 09:00. You MUST attend the safety meeting to be able to shoot. If you arrive late and miss the safety meeting you will not be able to shoot. Also, eye and ear protection are required for everyone who goes out into the range. Please note the earlier safety briefing and opening of registration! COURSES OF FIRE This month features five stages plus a side match. Concealment will be mandatory for some of the stages. Ammo requirements would suggest bringing a minimum of 100 rounds for the match. The side match will require 10 rounds from a centerfire rifle and a minimum of 6 rounds from your normal handgun. Match fee is $15 for Racine IDPA members, $20 for all non-members. Members of RCLRC receive a $10 discount. NEW SHOOTERS If you are a new shooter, we ask that you do not gear up until we meet to discuss equipment placement (holster and mag carriers). One of our S.O.’s will ask each new shooter to explain the controls (safety, mag release, etc) of their firearm. SAFETY OFFICERS We plan on 2 squads, and we need at least 6 people to step forward. MATCH DIRECTOR Colin Patel will be the Match Director at this match. PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE We’ll be starting a new raffle at this match, and this will be our annual charity raffle. The prize is a GSG StG-44 Sturmgewehr, a .22LR replica of the famous StG-44 from World War II Germany. This was the original “assault rifle”. Proceeds from the raffle will go to benefit Wisconsin Special Olympics. Tickets cost $10 each, and we want to sell at least 100 of them. We also ordered a few extra t-shirts, so if you didn’t order one with your membership, we do have a few available. Cost is $10.00 each. If anyone has any suggestions for stages, please send them my way. I’m always interested in other peoples’ stage design, and while I can’t guarantee they’ll get used at any particular match, the odds are good that they’ll get used eventually.
