Racine IDPA Women Only Match

RACINE IDPA ? May 4th Women Only Match The next Racine IDPA match is coming up this Saturday, May 4th, 2013. The match is being held outdoors at Schultz Resort Rod & Gun Club in Muskego, WI. Directions can be found on our web site at http://www.racineidpa.com. Setup and range preparation will start at 8:30 AM. Registration will begin at 9:00 AM. Safety meeting will be at 10:00 AM with shooting to start immediately after. You MUST attend the safety meeting to be able to shoot. If you arrive late and miss the safety meeting you will not be able to shoot. Also, eye and ear protection and a brimmed type hat are required. COURSES OF FIRE This match will have five stages. Ammo requirements would suggest bringing a minimum of 100 rounds for the match. Match fee is $15 for Racine IDPA members, $20 for all non-members. MATCH DIRECTOR Kellie Ropers will be the Match Director at this match. PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE While the intent of this match is to provide an experience of IDPA for those not familiar with the sport, any woman is welcome to attend and shoot. Also, while IDPA typically requires drawing from a holster and using concealment garments, this will be optional for those who are not comfortable with these yet. Some of the stages will require reloading your handgun while the clock is running, so having two to three magazines for your handgun will be required. Everyone who will be on the range will be required to sign a waiver form, as well as provide their own eye and ear protection. For those new to IDPA, I recommend reading the New Shooter Brochure available on the club’s web site (www.racineidpa.com). Safety is of course a paramount concern, so safety rules will be *strictly* enforced. That being said, the best advice I can offer is that new Shooters should listen carefully to the Safety Officers at each stage, ask plenty of questions, and take their time when shooting a stage. We have to be safe, but we also want this to be a fun experience for everyone. Come ready to shoot and have some fun. See you on Saturday.
