Updates to Rulebook and MAR for 2025
IDPA Regional Area Coordinator Leads have announced some minor updates to the sport rulebooks as listed below. These updates are nominal and will take effect Feb. 1, 2025. Please reach out to your Area Coordinator or International Point of Contact with questions.
2025 Match Administration Rules:
- M- 3.4.17 – Recognizing all divisions are required unless advertised differently and approved by the AC/IPOC and both RACLs.
- M-3.5.14 – Recognizing all divisions in a Tier 4 match is required unless a waiver is applied by IDPA HQ (utilizing input from the RACLs for matches inside the USA or the IPOC lead for matches outside of the USA.)
- M- 3.6 – chart updated per M-3.5.14
- M-11.2 – The coordinator will intervene in a sanctioned match they are responsible for if 3 DQs occur on the same stage, not counting Chrono or Equipment Check stages. The coordinator must immediately investigate the stage for any issues with stage safety, legality, match personnel, construction, or other problematic areas. The issues and investigation findings must be logged in the AAR.
2025 PCC Appendix:
- 1.1.7 – These exact range commands will be used after the If Finished, Unload and Show Clear command: “If Clear, Flag It and Muzzle Up or Down.”
2025 IDPA Rulebook
- 2.9.1.3. Muzzle Exclusion Zone: Muzzle – Exclusion Zones must be marked on doors/ports/windows that the shooter is required to open during the CoF. This type of muzzle safe point designates a keep out area and should be a minimum dimension of 6” square. If the muzzle points at this keep out area while the shooter is touching the marked area, the shooter will be disqualified.
- 212.9.1 – Once the [PCC] Shooter has inspected the chamber/cylinder and found it to be clear, this command will be issued, and the shooter will comply (See PCC Appendix for PCC specific range commands).
- 10.1 – Disqualification for a safety rule witnessed by a match official, assigned to that match, may not be appealed unless a rule is being incorrectly applied.
